There’s a water leak under our house. I’m not sure how it all works but my beloved front porch is torn up as we wait for the plumber. There are times in life where life throws you turns and crashes. I recently heard a true story about a speaker who missed his flight. He argued […]
“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know? Who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone—while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?” Job 38:4-7 (NIV) […]
I am sitting at my computer forcing myself to write because it’s Tuesday which means it’s blog post day. I’m feeling empty, poured out, depleted so how can I share anything with you? How do you write when you feel as though you have nothing to give? You’re honest I guess. You’re honest about how […]
Sometimes you just have to seize the opportunity when you have it. On Thanksgiving this year while the rest of the family was in the other part of the house enjoying each other I decided to interview my 96 year old father-in-law. You can hear the family in the back round so it’s not the […]
Friend, enjoy this guest post written by my beautiful friend, Seana Scott. Seana is a writer, speaker, wife, and mom if three. The pies are baking. Turkeys are roasting. It’s holiday season! He left behind a gorgeous wife, three beautiful little boys, and a grieving congregation who loved him. What could cause a young man who seemed to have it all to take his […]
There once was a little girl who had a tremendous amount of fear and anxiety. She masked that fear with superficial confidence and outward apathy. This little girl had been told by her hero, her father, that this life was all there was. Dead meant, dead. Dead. Gone. Nothingness. Forever. “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. […]
Yes, I know today is Halloween, but that’s not what I want to talk about today. During Sunday services our pastor referenced the upcoming holiday as Taco Tuesday. It made me laugh. There are certain holidays which have the potential to take us away from focusing on God and our faith. I want to do the […]
I was having an especially rough week. Since the release of my book I’ve been feeling like no matter what I do it’s just not enough. No matter how many radio spots or author events I book it’s just not enough. I’m not enough. I’m not good enough. Do you ever feel like that? Like […]
