I Love My Mom

My Mom is one of the funniest people I know. Oh, don’t get me wrong, she is not trying to be funny, and she wouldn’t describe herself as funny either. Check out some of her Facebook posts.

Mom’s Facebook:

Good morning happy Friday. Today is sandal day. Have a great one. I will definitely wear my sandals today!

Good morning happy Wednesday. Senior day in the casino today. Have a great day. This was followed by three emoji bunnies. I have no idea why. Are there bunnies in the casinos now?

Good morning happy Saturday cold cold cold 30 degrees this morning keep warm. This was followed by two snowmen. Is it snowing there in Vegas? Did you and Dad roll balls of snow and together craft a snowman?

Good morning happy Monday. Bernie is under the weather today he’s come down with a cold. I have a scratchy throat but I’ll be fine. Have a good day. I’m so relieved that you’ll be fine. You had me worried there for a minute.

Good morning happy Monday. I think I’m a little hung over this morning, too much to drink yesterday. But had a fun fun time at the Super Bowl party. TMI Mom, TMI.

Good morning happy Thursday. Went to Weiss Deli for breakfast. Bernie had Taylor ham and eggs his favorite. Have a great day. Glad you had a good breakfast?

Good morning. Great weekend. Had a great prime rib dinner. Yummy. Having breakfast with our granddaughter Monica and our great grand baby Jacob. Also our daughter Lucille and our grandson Joe. Have a great day. Thanks for the mention, Mom.

Anytime I want to brighten my day, I read a few of my mom’s Facebook posts.

Now let’s talk about when she calls me. This is even better.

I see Mom on my caller ID. I answer the phone.

“Hi, Mom!”

“Hi Lucille, it’s Mom.”

“Yes, I know, I just said ‘Hi, Mom.’” *smile

Or

“Hi, Mom!”

“Why haven’t you called me?”

Ummm is there a good answer for that? *shrug

 Or

“Hi, Mom!”

“I’m not home, did you know I’m not home?”

“Well, I do now?”

Is this entrapment? *bug eye emoji

Or

“Hi, Mom!”

“Did you know you haven’t called me in two weeks?”

Trick question? Is there a right answer to that? *breathe

“Sorry, Mom, I had…”

And when I call her…

“Hi Lucille, what do you want? My tea’s getting cold.”

Lol. Lol. *head shake

Or

“Oh, hi Lucille, you’re alive!”

Thanks for letting me know? *head drop on the table

 Or

“Hi Lucille, I haven’t heard from you. What if I died?”

“Uhh, I’m pretty sure someone would have called me?” Bad answer, I know, but if you know how to answer that question please tell me, I’m begging you. *praying hands

My mother cracks me up all the time. I enjoy our little exchanges and I never know what she will say next. It’s like potluck surprise.

We get one Mom and we need to cherish her to the best of our ability.

Yes, I know every mom can be somewhat trying at times. I know my kids would say that about me! Whomever God chose to be your mom, honor God by honoring your mom.

To all my fellow Mom’s out there, happy Mother’s Day! Enjoy your children and let Mom know you love her.

To my mom: happy Mother’s Day, I love you! And especially the humor you bring into my life.

And if you have a stepmom, show her some extra love. She needs to know you care about her and appreciate her on this special day.

Fondly,

Lu
