How To Get Your Husband To Do the Things You Want

I hear it over and over, “My husband won’t…and doesn’t…and refuses to…”

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies, we are going about this all wrong.

“Why did you come home so late?”

“You left your dirty gym clothes all over the bedroom.”

“It would be nice if you cleaned the dishes now and then.”dishes

“I am sick and tired of cooking! Why don’t you ever take me out?”

When someone is complaining to you about you, does that inspire you to get in line and jump to it? No! All it does is make you want to stay away from that person. Why would it be any different for our husbands? Think about it.

Now, let’s compare the above words to more affirming words, such as:

“I love that you got home tonight in time for an early dinner. It was the best thing that happened all day!”

“Thank you for throwing your dirty clothes close to the hamper. It made it so much easier for me!”

“It was thoughtful of you to carry the dishes to the sink. I really appreciate it.”

“Thank you for calling me in the middle of the day, thank you for picking up the milk on your way home, thank you for calling and letting me know you were running behind, thank you for working so hard, thank you for taking my car in for service, thank you for driving with me to pick up the kids…”

“You want to take me out for dinner? You are the best husband ever!”

The end.

Be appreciative. Show respect. Honor with your words. Affirm often. Love him with all you’ve got. He’s yours. Treat him like your most valued treasure.
